Getting Started Tips

  • Arrive a few minutes early, unfortunately there is no admittance 10 minutes into the class, this is for your safety, pole dance is a strenuous workout and requires warm-up to avoid injury. There are no exeptions to this policy.
  • Leave the world behind in class, focus on you and please turn your cell phone off.
  • What to wear:

    Pole Classes-We recommend you wear form fitting workout apparel, shorts and tank top. Please NO lotion.

    Aerial Silks-Please wear leggings (cover the knees) and a form fitting tank or t-shirt. No shoes are worn for Aerial Silks. Please remove all arm/finger jewelry prior to class.

    Barre Workouts-Comfortable workout wear is recommended

    Fitness Classes-Workout clothes and workout shoes

    Burlesque-Comfortable workout clothes, bare feet are fine. Burlesque heels can also be worn

  • Bring a bottle of water, a small towel, knee pads and if you like some of your favorite music to dance to. We provide clean, sanitized yoga mats
  • Please remove all rings and bracelets before using the poles and the silks, this is for the safety of your jewelry and to avoid scratching the poles and ripping the silks.
  • Remove all lotion and oil from your skin, it will make the poles slippery and cause difficulty in learning the tricks and movements
  • Have fun……..put your fears to rest everyone was a beginner once. We are all friends. Our instructors are amazing and we foster a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

 

1. How do I sign up for classes?
Click on the Classes tab, located on the top menu of the website, then choose Schedule. A second window will pop up, create a profile by clicking the link in the top right hand corner, New Users Sign In. Provide us with the requested information. Once you have created a profile you are free to purchase any of our classes, series or memberships. After you have purchased a class, membership or punch card you can then sign up for a class.

2. Do I have to sign up for classes or can I just drop in?
Please do utilize our sign in and sign out functionality. We limit our class sizes, we want to ensure the best class experience possible, so to make certain you get in the class, best to sign in, otherwise there may not be room in the class. Once the class is full, we cannot take additional students. In order to maintain the integrity and quality of our classes, there will be no exceptions to this policy.

3. What if I don’t make it to a class I signed into?
If you are unable to make a class you signed in for please sign out of the class using our scheduling program. If you can’t get to your computer, no problem, just give us a call at the studio and we will sign you out. If you are unable to reach us at the studio, it is your responsibility to sign yourself out of the class via the scheduling program. Leaving a message or an email will not guarantee you were signed out of the class. Our policy at Embody is based on reservation of classes, this is because we limit our class sizes to ensure the best experience for our students. Again, if you are unable to attend a class you signed in for please call the studio or sign out of the class online, otherwise the class is forfeited. Unfortunately there are no exceptions to this policy.

4. How do I purchase a membership or class?
Click on the tab Purchase Classes/Membership located in the scheduling software, choose the type of item you would like to purchase. Click on Memberships to purchase an unlimited membership, 4 class package, any of our Mix and Match packages or the Embody Transformation Program. 5. What if I forgot my login?
Click on the link in the upper right corner titled: Forgot your login? The system will send an email containing your username and password to the email address that we have saved inside your account.

6. How do I see my information and purchases?
Click on the tab My Info. In this area you can view your all your billing and account information, as well as your class and purchase history. You can also update your information in this area.

7. What can I expect from a class?
You can expect to laugh, have fun and get an amazing workout. There is no nudity in our pole classes and all classes are taught with professionalism and fitness in mind. Click Here for more information on all our classes and formatting.

8. Do I have to wear high heels?
Absolutely not, high heels are completely and totally optional. If you have never been to a pole class before you may find it easier to take your first class barefoot. However, I will tell you, when you do Pole in high heels, you’re in for an fantastic workout! Everything is a little bit harder. You may also find that high heels bring out that sexy part of you, that part we tend to neglect and keep hidden. ;)

9. What should I wear and bring?
Wear shorts, a tank top and sport bra. You do need bare skin on your legs to do many of the spins and tricks we learn in the classes, so shorts really are necessary. Please don’t be self-conscious, we are an all women studio, we foster a very supportive, and a non-judgemental community of women. You are welcome here! If you have a yoga mat, you are free to bring it, otherwise we have them at the studio for you. You may also want to bring water, you work up a sweat Pole Dancing. If you are attending a dance or fitness class, standard workout clothes and tennis shoes are fine.

10. Do I have to be in shape to come to a class?
Absolutely not! We have women all ages, shapes and sizes at our studio. Our goal is to help you meet your fitness goals and walk with you on your journey. Again, everyone starts somewhere. Take that first step, you will not regret it! You will be surprised at how quickly your body responds to the love you give it, by exercising and eating right. :D

11. What if I’m late for the class?
If it’s your very first class we ask that you arrive 15 minutes or so, before class begins, to fill out a little bit of paperwork. After your first class, of course it’s always better if you’re on time, but we understand, things happen. We appreciate it if you do not come to class more than 10 minutes after the class has begun. This is for your safety, pole dancing, as well as the other classes we offer here, are strenous and we warmup well, to avoid injury. We don’t want you to get hurt. There are no exceptions to this policy. If possible please give us a call, let us know you won’t be making it and we’ll sign you out of the class.

12. What if a class is full?
If a class is full, you can add yourself to the waiting list. We encourage you to do this, as students sign out of classes all the time. Once you are added to the waiting list you will be contacted, via email, once a spot opens up.
